Can Picafort is part of the SICTED project, the Comprehensive Tourism Quality System for Destinations, an initiative aimed at improving the quality of tourism services and the experience of visitors to the municipality.
This system works with tourism businesses and services across various sectors, including accommodation providers, restaurants, shops, tourist information offices, beaches, municipal services and other visitor-related activities. Its aim is to promote a more welcoming, professional and well-coordinated destination committed to continuous improvement.

The Commitment to Tourism Quality distinction recognises establishments and services that implement quality best practices and successfully complete the assessment process established by the system. For visitors, it provides an easy way to identify businesses and services committed to delivering higher standards of customer care and a more satisfying experience.
Pel que fa al eix de la tecnologia, cal destacar que Santa Margalida ha apostat per la utilització intensiva de les tecnologies aplicades a la governança. D’altra banda, també es fa una forta aporta per la innovació com a palanca per aprofitar nous reptes que es plantegen en el context turístic i general. Finalment, a l’eix d’accessibilitat, l’Ajuntament de Santa Margalida està apostant pel turisme inclusiu. D’aquesta manera, es vol que el nostre municipi i els seus recursos turístics puguin ser visitats independentment de les capacitats físiques i sensorials de cada un.
Pel que fa a recomanacions que es proposen a l’Ajuntament, destaca la configuració d’una Smart Office com a instrument de coordinació per la gestió i planificació de tot el procés de conversió turística del municipi del model DTI.
