History and nature take center stage along the more than 6 kilometers that make up this route. Its significance is such that the path running along the coast has been designated a "Blue Trail."
The route runs entirely through the municipality of Santa Margalida, along a coastal area of great archaeological and scenic value, with torres d’enfilació as a distinctive feature and the Necròpolis de Son Real as an essential stop, all within a beautifully preserved natural environment. Along the way, visitors can discover unspoilt beaches, archaeological sites, vegetation and military structures originally designed for warfare that have now become popular subjects for photography.
The spectacular Necròpolis de Son Real, dating from the Talayotic period, gives this route a strong historical significance. Who knows what beliefs inspired them; perhaps captivated by the sea opening towards endless horizons, the islanders decided centuries ago to honour their dead here, on islets, in tombs and in caves.
