The project originated from the exhibition Ports d’Alga Marina, presented in 2016, and evolved into its current form, completed in spring 2022, with sculptures located throughout Can Picafort, Son Serra de Marina and Santa Margalida.
The artworks tell a Mediterranean story inspired by the classical world, mythology, journeys, the sea, memory and the human condition. Ulysses, Penelope, Jason, Calypso, the Minotaur and Ithaca are reinterpreted through Bennàssar’s distinctive artistic language: powerful, Mediterranean, symbolic and deeply human figures.
