Torre de senyals II

Along the Bay of Alcúdia, between s’Albufera and Colònia de Sant Pere, there are a total of 28 torres d’enfilació with a similar structure: tall, obelisk-shaped constructions, numbered and painted white with some red details. Along the front line, there was one every 1,240 metres, with another tower positioned 200 metres behind each one.

They were designed to provide light signals to submarines during torpedo-firing practice as part of military exercises carried out between 1941 and 1970. Today, due to the large number of torres d’enfilació in the municipality and their good state of preservation, they have become the image of the Can Picafort tourism brand.
