Molí d’en Curt

Molí d’en Curt is one of two flour mills located at the highest point of Santa Margalida, alongside Molí d’en Cifre. These windmills are part of the town's historic landscape and serve as a reminder of the importance grain milling once held in the municipality's traditional economy.

As is common among Mallorcan flour mills, the Molí d’en Curt is characterised by its cylindrical or slightly truncated-cone-shaped tower, topped by a conical roof known as a capell. This example stands out particularly for its good state of preservation, having undergone restoration, and retains six 7-metre-long lattice sails.

The Molí d’en Curt and the Molí d’en Cifre already appear on the 17th-century map of the Vila, demonstrating their age and importance within the urban and agricultural landscape of Santa Margalida.

Today, this mill is a significant element of Santa Margalida’s ethnological heritage. Its silhouette offers a better understanding of the relationship between the town, the wind, cereal crops and the traditional ways of working that shaped everyday life in the Vila for centuries.
