Son Real dolmen tomb

The Son Real dolmen tomb is a prehistoric funerary structure located opposite Illa des Porros, within one of the most important stretches of Mallorca's archaeological coastline.

This type of structure is associated with prehistoric communities predating the full development of the Talayotic culture and dates to around 1750 BCE. It consists of *marès* sandstone slabs set vertically, which regularly delineate an ancient burial space.

Its location is particularly significant, as it lies very close to the Son Real Necropolis. This proximity suggests that this entire stretch of coastline held great funerary and ritual importance over a long period of prehistory.

Abundant Talayotic and Roman ceramic remains are found in the vicinity of the tomb, indicating the site’s continued use, visitation, or significance over time.

The Son Real dolmen-style tomb offers insight into the symbolic importance of this coastline, where the sea, death, memory, and the landscape combine to form one of the municipality’s most unique archaeological sites.
